I went back to Jamaica on another missions trip. Got home on January 4,2010. Things turned out well, everyone in the group interacted well, our Jamaican hosts were wonderful, we got a lot accomplished and I wanna go back.I wanted to share something that is very meaningful to me. It's about something that happened to me while I was in Jamaica on the missions trip last week. Here it is:
When I get bladder infectio
ns they come upon me with a vengeance very fast with no warning. I get real sick and miserable. I need immediate medical help when I get them. Herbs don't help heal them in me. It was the day before we was to fly back to America. I knew the flight home would be nearly impossible because of the bladder infection. I didn't have enough money left to go to a doctor there in Jamaica or a way to get to one. So getting medical care was not possible.
I told the Jamaican pastors wife and then asked the Jamaican pastor himself for prayer that the infection goes away. He put his hand on mine and together he and his wife pray out loud along with my niece who puts her hand on my back. I opened my eyes and looked at my hand under the pastors and saw something that God surely sees as beautiful which was a very dark skinned hand holding onto a very white skinned hand and praying. Race did not matter, skin color was no big deal. God surely must see the many colors of people interacting as beautiful since He made them all. Two extremes of colors grasping hands in prayer.
It struck me that the descendant of slaves who were horribly beaten, raped and abused was covering the hand and praying for the descendant of someone who enslaved his people.
I was healed.
